ClimateEnergy Efficiency
Melanie Franco
Student Researcher

Melanie Franco is a rising 2L at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. Melanie graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in business management and a minor in energy and sustainability.

While in college, Melanie spent a semester interning at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in their Institute for 21st Century Energy, where her interest in energy law began to take shape. It was also during these four months that she fell in love with Washington, D.C., and the fast-paced world of policy-making. After law school, she hopes to return to D.C. and start her career there.

Since joining the Pace Law community, Melanie has joined the Pace Energy and Climate Law Society and the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition, both of which she will be on the executive board for in the coming school year. She hopes to remain as actively involved in the environmental law program throughout her time in law school.

Fun facts about Melanie: Her parents work in theater and she has been (badly) acting since she was three years old! In her free time, she enjoys cooking, watching movies, and appreciating art in all its forms.
